16 c. Fuse Ball Start Place a tightly rolled ball of steel wool about 3/8-in. in diameter on the workpiece directly beneath the welding wire. Slowly lower the welding wire down onto the ball, until it is compressed to about half size. Apply submerged arc flux, and start welding. a. Outside Circumferential Welding. Incline welding wire so that it is in line with radius of curvature. b. Inside Circumferential Welding. Incline welding wire so that it is in line with radius of curvature.
