Open each cylinder valve SLOWLY.
Stand in such a position that you can see the cylinder-pressure
gauge hand on
the regulator, but never stand directly in front of the regulator gauge faces.
It is especially important that you open
the oxygen cylinder valve only very slightly at first, and that you wait until
the cylinder-pressure gauge hand has
stopped moving before opening the valve fully.
Remember that acetylene cylinder valves should not be opened
more than one and one-half turns. Fig.
