A5.29, ASME SFA 5.29 Description:
Dual Shield 88-CM is a flux cored wire
depositing X-ray sound weld metal with a nominal analysis of 1-1/4%
Cr, 1/2% Mo. The weld beads are slightly
convex with very fine ripples and horizontal fillets have equal leg
lengths. The arc is smooth and deeply
penetrating and has minimal spatter. The weld metal analysis is
similar to an E8018-B2
low hydrogen electrode. Dual
Shield 88-CM wire is used for the welding of such steel as 1/2% Cr - 1/2% Mo,
1% Cr - 1/2% Mo, and 1-1/4%
Cr - 1/2% Mo. Dual Shield 88-CM is designed for single or multiple pass welds
in the flat or horizontal
fillet positions. Shielding
