12 All-State® No. 430*-Cadmium Free Low Temperature Silver Bearing Solder For Torch, Furnace, Induction or Soldering Iron Applications General Characteristics All-State® No. 430 offers high strength on stainless steels and dissimilar metals (except white metals). Free of cadmium, it is ideal for food handling equipment and conforms to pure food laws. Deposits stay bright and shiny, even after prolonged service. All-State® No. 430 closely matches stainless steel in color and takes plating. Typical Applications Recommended applications: stainless steel food handling equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, instrument manufacturing, electrical work where higher conductivity is required and other applications where strength and ductility must be higher than common solders offer. Qualities Tensile strength —up to 15,000 psi (10.55 kgs/mm2) Solidus —430°F (221°C) Liquidus —430°F (221°C) Corrosion resistance—good Procedures Degrease joint area. Place All-State Duzall® liquid flux on joint area. Use any heat source that will produce 430°F (221°C) in the base metal. If torch is used, heat indirectly and avoid burning flux. Apply solder when flux starts to bubble. Allow to cool slowly. Remove flux residue with hot water. When soldering stainless steel types 430, 316, 321 or 347, use All-State® No. 430 Acid Flux.
