Overlay 56 Open
arc wire for heavy impact and abrasion resistance. Use on rock handling equipment,
dragline buckets, shovels,
dreg buckets, and hammer mills. Not machinable or forgeable. Cannot be cut with
an oxy/fuel torch. Two passes
limit. 50 Rc hardness. Available in 7/64" (2.8mm) x 50-lb. (22.68 kg) coils.
Overlay 1520 Flux
cored wire for build-up, joining or overlaying parts subjected to heavy impacts.
Use on manganese, carbon and
low alloy steels. Performs best with 75 Argon/25 CO 2
mixture
short arc; 98/2 or 95/5 Argon/Oxygen for spray arc.
Available in .045" (1.1mm) and 1/16" (1.6mm) x 25-lb. (11.34 kg) spools.
Overlay 2125 Low
alloy build-up wire with good compressive strength and resistnce to plastic deformation.
Ideal as a build-up base
for subsequent harder wear resistance overlay. It is easily machined in the as-welded
condition for both carbon
and low allow steels. Typical applications: shaft build-up. Use with CO
2 ,
but best results are obtained with
Argon/CO 2
mixtures.
Deposit hardness 21-25 RC. Available in .045" (1.1mm) and 1/16" (1.6mm)
x 25-lb. (11.34
kg) spools. Overlay
3038 Flux cored
iron base alloy in .045" (1.1mm) and 1/16" (1.6mm) spools. Use for build-up and
joining on carbon, low alloy,
manganese, and stainless steels. 30 Rc hardness on first pass. 38 Rc hardness
on second pass. Available in
10-lb. (4.54 kg) and 25-lb. (11.34 kg) spools. Overlay
4550 Metal-cored,
Gas-shielded, Argon/CO 2
75/25
or Argon Oxygen 98/2 hardsurfacing wire. Tough, shock resistant,
tool steel type wire offers good corrosion
resistance, excellent metal-to-metal wear and abrasion characteristics.
Deposits polish in-service to reduce
friction and minimize wear of mating parts. Excellent resistance to heat
checking. Multi-layer, crack-free deposits.
Typical applications: Forging dies, ingot buggy car wheels, kiln trunnions,
steel
mill rolls, cable sheaves, dredge ladder rolls, and overlaying of shafts. For
use on carbon, stainless and manganese
steels. Deposit hardness 45-50 RC. Available in .045" (1.1mm) and 1/16" (1.6mm)
x 25-lb. (11.34
kg) spools.
